Attackers create adversarial data, input subtly modified so a machine learning model misclassifies it or behaves in a way the attacker chooses, while it still looks normal to people. It can be used to evade detection models or manipulate decisions.\n\n**How to defend.** Test models against adversarial examples during development, use adversarial training and input preprocessing where suitable, and avoid relying on a single model for security-critical decisions. Limit the detail returned by model APIs, such as confidence scores, and rate-limit queries.\n\n**Signs to look for.** Look for high volumes of slightly varied queries, inputs near decision boundaries and a drop in model accuracy on real-world data. A common gap is that model inputs and outputs are not logged, so attacks cannot be reconstructed.",null,"https:\u002F\u002Fatlas.mitre.org\u002F","Open MITRE ATLAS","2026-10-18T15:18:43.663+00:00",{"total":9,"list":17},[18,22,26,30,34,38,42],{"slug":19,"title":20,"published_at":21},"ai-models-act-autonomously-to-bypass-auth-and-raid-crypto-wallets","AI Models Act Autonomously to Bypass Auth and Raid Crypto Wallets","2026-10-16T12:21:09.736+00:00",{"slug":23,"title":24,"published_at":25},"ai-model-distillation-attack-bypasses-encryption-via-prompt-manipulation","AI Model Distillation Attack Bypasses Encryption via Prompt Manipulation","2026-10-01T00:20:40.35+00:00",{"slug":27,"title":28,"published_at":29},"claude-ai-exploited-for-state-sponsored-hacking-disinformation-and-bioweapon-research","Claude AI Exploited for State-Sponsored Hacking, Disinformation, and Bioweapon Research","2026-09-12T12:20:42.531+00:00",{"slug":31,"title":32,"published_at":33},"1200-ai-agents-coordinate-cyberattack-exposing-ai-safety-gaps","1,200 AI Agents Coordinate Cyberattack, Exposing AI Safety Gaps","2026-08-28T22:21:13.923+00:00",{"slug":35,"title":36,"published_at":37},"ai-agents-self-organized-covert-channel-to-breach-hugging-face","AI Agents Self-Organized Covert Channel to Breach Hugging Face","2026-08-27T12:20:30.73+00:00",{"slug":39,"title":40,"published_at":41},"rogue-ai-agents-breach-hugging-face-undetected-for-weeks","Rogue AI Agents Breach Hugging Face Undetected for Weeks","2026-08-18T20:20:24.431+00:00",{"slug":43,"title":44,"published_at":45},"ai-models-struggle-with-complex-malware-analysis-human-oversight-remains-critical","AI Models Struggle With Complex Malware Analysis, Human Oversight Remains Critical","2026-07-23T14:20:52.894+00:00",[47,52,57,62,66,70],{"slug":48,"name":49,"problem":50,"stories":51},"ai-security","AI application security","Prompt injection, data leaks through AI tools and unapproved AI use get caught.",6,{"slug":53,"name":54,"problem":55,"stories":56},"security-monitoring-siem","Security monitoring (SIEM)","Logs from everywhere end up in one place, with alerts that someone actually sees.",2,{"slug":58,"name":59,"problem":60,"stories":61},"application-allowlisting","Application allowlisting","Any program that reaches a computer can run, including ransomware and the remote-access tools attackers bring with them.",1,{"slug":63,"name":64,"problem":65,"stories":61},"asset-inventory","Cyber asset inventory","You cannot patch, monitor or protect the devices, cloud resources and accounts you do not know you have.",{"slug":67,"name":68,"problem":69,"stories":61},"deception","Deception and honeypots","An attacker who gets in quietly can explore the network for weeks before any alarm goes off.",{"slug":71,"name":72,"problem":73,"stories":61},"endpoint-detection-response","Endpoint detection and response (EDR and XDR)","Malware and hands-on-keyboard attackers on laptops and servers get spotted and stopped.",[75,80,86,91,96,100,104,108],{"family":76,"item":77,"code":78,"title":79,"together":51},"nist-ai-rmf","overview","AI RMF 1.0","AI Risk Management Framework (AI RMF 1.0)",{"family":81,"item":82,"code":83,"title":84,"together":85},"cis","8","Control 8","Audit Log Management",5,{"family":87,"item":88,"code":89,"title":90,"together":85},"gdpr","25","Article 25","Data protection by design and by default",{"family":87,"item":92,"code":93,"title":94,"together":95},"32","Article 32","Security of processing",3,{"family":81,"item":97,"code":98,"title":99,"together":95},"3","Control 3","Data Protection",{"family":81,"item":101,"code":102,"title":103,"together":95},"12","Control 12","Network Infrastructure Management",{"family":81,"item":105,"code":106,"title":107,"together":95},"13","Control 13","Network Monitoring and Defense",{"family":109,"item":110,"code":111,"title":112,"together":95},"nist-800-53","ac-6","AC-6","Least Privilege"]
