Gardyn IoT Hub
Three critical vulnerabilities in Gardyn IoT Hub expose hardcoded credentials and device logs to unauthenticated access.
Summary
CISA released an advisory on critical vulnerabilities affecting Gardyn IoT Hub devices used in food and agriculture. Three CVEs (CVE-2026-13768, CVE-2026-55726, CVE-2026-54477) allow unauthenticated attackers to access hardcoded credentials, retrieve device logs from Azure Blob Storage, and execute arbitrary commands on connected devices. Gardyn has released firmware updates and recommends users ensure internet connectivity for automatic downloads.

ICS Advisory Gardyn IoT Hub Release DateJuly 02, 2026 Alert CodeICSA-26-183-03 Related topics: Industrial Control System Vulnerabilities , Industrial Control Systems View CSAF Summary Successful exploitation of these vulnerabilities could allow unauthenticated users to access and control IoT Hub managed devices. The following versions of Gardyn IoT Hub are affected: Home Firmware Studio Firmware Cloud API <2.12.2026 (CVE-2026-13768, CVE-2026-55726, CVE-2026-54477) CVSS Vendor Equipment Vulnerabilities v3 10 Gardyn Gardyn IoT Hub Use of Hard-coded Credentials, Exposure of Sensitive System Information to an Unauthorized Control Sphere, Improper Neutralization of HTTP Headers for Scripting Syntax Background Critical Infrastructure Sectors: Food and Agriculture Countries/Areas Deployed: United States Company Headquarters Location: United States Vulnerabilities Expand All + CVE-2026-13768 Gardyn devices expose a privileged iothubowner key. Access to this key will allow a malicious user to invoke an IoTHub Registry Manager function which returns connection information for all Gardyn Home Kit and Studio devices. Access to this key also allows a malicious user to execute arbitrary commands on a specific connected device and may allow the malicious user to pivot to other devices on the user's network. Recommended Practices CISA recommends users take defensive measures to minimize the risk of exploitation of these vulnerabilities. Minimize network exposure for all control system devices and/or systems, ensuring they are not accessible from the Internet. Locate control system networks and remote devices behind firewalls and isolating them from business networks. When remote access is required, use more secure methods, such as Virtual Private Networks (VPNs), recognizing VPNs may have vulnerabilities and should be updated to the most current version available. Also recognize VPN is only as secure as the connected devices. CISA reminds organizations to perform proper impact analysis and risk assessment prior to deploying defensive measures. CISA also provides a section for control systems security recommended practices on the ICS webpage on cisa.gov/ics. Several CISA products detailing cyber defense best practices are available for reading and download, including Improving Industrial Control Systems Cybersecurity with Defense-in-Depth Strategies. CISA encourages organizations to implement recommended cybersecurity strategies for proactive defense of ICS assets. Additional mitigation guidance and recommended practices are publicly available on the ICS webpage at cisa.gov/ics in the technical information paper, ICS-TIP-12-146-01B--Targeted Cyber Intrusion Detection and Mitigation Strategies. Organizations observing suspected malicious activity should follow established internal procedures and report findings to CISA for tracking and correlation against other incidents. No known public exploitation specifically targeting these vulnerabilities has been reported to CISA at this time.
