Configuration Management

Cloud security posture management (CSPM and CNAPP)

Misconfigured cloud storage and over-permissive roles get caught before they leak.

What it is

Continuous checks of cloud accounts in AWS, Azure and Google Cloud against secure settings, plus a view of which workloads are exposed, vulnerable and reachable from the internet.

How to value it

Cloud breaches are rarely clever: an open storage bucket, an exposed database, an over-privileged key. Posture management finds these within minutes of creation and ranks them by real exposure, which matters because cloud teams change settings many times a day.

Questions to ask a vendor

  1. 1Which cloud providers and services does it cover?
  2. 2Does it show attack paths, for example an exposed machine with a role that reaches sensitive data?
  3. 3Can findings go straight into the owning team's backlog?
  4. 4Is it agentless, and what access does it need to our accounts?

How we list vendors

  • A product is listed because it provides the control. Nobody pays to be listed, and on story pages the examples rotate, so no vendor is always first.
  • Vendor pages show both the vendor's own research and the incidents involving its products, from our own coverage. We do not leave either out.
  • Our summaries are written by us, based on the vendors' own pages. Text in quotation marks or marked "in their own words" is the vendor's own, quoted from its website.
  • Logos, product names and quoted text belong to the vendors and are shown to identify them.
  • Something wrong? Use "Suggest a correction" on the vendor's page. A product we should look at? Email support@threatnoir.com.
