Who we are
ThreatNoir is run by Marcus Lenngren in Sweden. You can reach us at contact@threatnoir.com. How we handle personal data is described in our privacy policy.
What ThreatNoir is
ThreatNoir curates security news and adds AI-assisted summaries, awareness lessons, indicators of compromise, briefs, podcasts and alerts. The site, its emails and its alerts are free. Paid services, such as ThreatNoir Academy for organisations, are covered by a separate agreement.
Information, not advice
Everything on ThreatNoir is general information. Summaries are written with the help of AI and can contain mistakes or miss details, and the facts of an incident often change after the first reports. Before you act, check the original source and the vendor's own advisory. ThreatNoir should not be your only source for security decisions.
Alerts and availability
We aim to send Vendor Watch alerts soon after a matching story is published, but we can't promise that every relevant event is covered, matched or delivered on time. Mail providers can delay or filter email. We may change, pause or stop any part of the service.
Your account
Use an email address that is yours and keep your sign-in details to yourself. You are responsible for what happens under your account. You can delete your account at any time in Settings. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms.
Acceptable use
Please don't:
- attack or overload the service, or try to get around its security, beyond the good-faith research described below;
- scrape the site in ways that strain it: use the feeds and the API instead, within their limits;
- sign up email addresses that aren't yours, or use the service to send spam;
- submit unlawful, misleading or malicious content or links;
- republish our content in bulk as your own.
Found a vulnerability? Tell us at contact@threatnoir.com. Good-faith research that avoids harming users, their data and the service is welcome.
Content and licences
- Our content, meaning the summaries, lessons, briefs, podcasts and the site's design, belongs to ThreatNoir. You may link to it, quote short parts with a link back, and share it inside your organisation.
- Feeds and the API are for your own use and integrations, with credit to ThreatNoir. Keep your API keys private and stay within the rate limits. Ask us before offering them to others as a service of your own.
- News articles we link to belong to their publishers. We link to them and quote them briefly.
What you send us
When you submit a tip, an article or other content, you confirm that you have the right to share it, and you allow us to publish, edit and distribute it on ThreatNoir.
Liability
ThreatNoir is provided as is, without warranties. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make based on our content. Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow us to limit, or takes away your rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
We change the date at the top whenever these terms change, and we tell subscribers by email about significant changes. If you keep using ThreatNoir after a change, the new terms apply. If you don't agree with them, you can stop using the service and delete your account.
Law and disputes
Swedish law applies to these terms, and disputes go to Swedish courts. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live.
